What happens when the world recasts James Joyce’s Ulysses 140 characters at a time in 24 hours? Find out here on Bloomsday, 16 June 2011.
This is an experiment. It relies entirely on volunteers drawn worldwide from those poor peregrinating souls trapped somewhere between the old-new media novel explosion that was Ulysses and the new-new media implosion that is Twitter.
We’ll also be using this blog to bring to you news and experiences from Bloomsday 2011 celebrations around the world.

Glad to know about this! Ulysses/Odysseus is No. 2 on The Fictional 100, in part because of his wide sweep of influence. Joyce’s Ulysses stands out as the hallmark and golden standard of that influence of the character down the centuries. I will be sure to tune in for the event!
